ABEA Members are encouraged to apply for open committee positions. Unless otherwise noted, each committee is composed of 3-4 individuals serving staggered 3-year terms in addition to the appointed Chairperson.

Committees are standing or special. Special Committees may be created or terminated at any time by resolution of the Board of Directors. These may also be called ad hoc or task forces. The Committee Chairperson is responsible for implementing the action of that Committee and in most cases serves a 3 year term. The ABEA President selects each Committee Chair. Committees may meet from time to time as the Committee Chairperson deems appropriate or hold a conference call when necessary. The Committee Chair will prepare semi-annual reports and will send the annual report to the Secretary of the Society one month in advance of each Board Meeting.
